The NCAA announced its 63-team field for the 2004 NCAA Golf Regionals Monday with the University of South Carolina women’s golf team earning its sixth consecutive bid. Twenty-one schools were invited to each of the three regionals with a select group of individuals also making the field.

The Gamecocks will compete in the East Regional, to be held at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort, Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida, May 6-8th. The Central Regional is being held in Normal, Illinois, at the University Golf Course with the West Regional played at the Stanford Golf Course in Sanford, California. The top eight teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships held May 18 through 21, in Auburn, Alabama.

“We’re very excited about participating in the NCAA Regionals again this year,” said USC head coach Kristi Coggins. “The East will be the dominant regional and we’ll have to play our best golf of the season to advance to the Championships. I’m confident that we will put a solid five out there with the opportunity for them to realize their potential and achieve personal break-throughs. The team believes that they belong at the NCAA Championships and will work hard to make that happen.”

The 54-hole Regionals begin on Thursday, May 6th and run through Sunday, May, 8th. Tee times have not been announced.
