Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Set to Play at New Carolina Center December 9
Opening festivities for new 18,000-seat arena in November; Springsteen plays Columbia for the first time since 1985

COLUMBIA, S.C. –
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform at the new Carolina Center on Monday, December 9th, it was announced today by Global Spectrum, C&C Concerts and the University of South Carolina Athletic Department.
Springsteen and the E Street Band will release, “The Rising,” on Tuesday, July 30th, their first all-new collaboration with the E Street Band since 1984. Springsteen and the E Street Band have not played in Columbia, SC, since 1985. The tour is expected to commence sometime in August.
Opening festivities for the new Carolina Center, the future home of the Men’s and Women’s USC Basketball teams, as well as a wide variety of concerts, family shows, religious events, and more, will begin in November. The new Carolina Center will be the pride of South Carolina with 18,000 seats, 41 suites, four Club Suites, and the McGuire Room, a full-service hospitality room that will have a capacity of 300. This state of the art facility will also feature plush seating, a technologically advanced sound system, a four-sided video scoreboard that will allow fans to be in the middle of the action, and a one of a kind selection of unique concession foods that will wow fans of all ages.

The University of South Carolina’s Athletic Department is the primary operator of the new Carolina Center. Global Spectrum, which manages over 32 facilities worldwide, has been selected by USC Athletics to manage the new Carolina Center.
