South Carolina Athletics is actively working with University leadership, the Southeastern Conference, and public health officials on a safe return to competition this fall. Precautions taken by South Carolina Athletics are consistent with the Governor’s guidance for the State of South Carolina.
Fans are asked to do their part by conscientiously practicing physical/social distancing, frequently washing hands, using hand sanitizer, and wearing face coverings to ensure the safest possible environment throughout the 2020 season. All fans should keep a safe distance of 6 feet between their party and other fans while inside and in the surrounding area of Stone Stadium.
Fans who are not feeling well or have been in close contact with someone they suspect may be infected should stay home.
Below are current measures that are planned to be in place at Stone Stadium for the 2020 season, grouped by topic in alphabetical order. These measures are subject to change based on recommendations by University leadership, the Southeastern Conference, and public health officials.
Stone Stadium will host approximately 675 fans this season, which will be a mix of students, family members of both the home and visiting teams and a limited number of ticket holders. This decision was made while following state and local guidelines, policies, and regulations.
Concessions stands at Stone Stadium will not be open for the 2020 season. Fans will be permitted to bring in one sealed bottle of water.
- All event and support staff will be required to wear PPE
- Education and training related to COVID-19 precautions will be provided for all staff and 3rd party vendors
- Face coverings (over the nose and mouth) will be required as a condition of all guest entry and throughout the stadium
- Stadium workers and athletics staff are required to wear face coverings at all times
- Face shields alone are not considered acceptable facial coverings for entry to athletics venues
- Available seating pods will be properly socially distanced according to CDC guidelines and available seats will marked with an “available seat” sticker.
- Though seats will be general admission for fans on the player-pass list, you must sit in pods with the group that they are attending with.
- Fans who have purchased tickets will be assigned a physical seat to sit in.
- Students will be required to sit in individual seats that are properly socially distanced.
- South Carolina ensures the set-up and operational procedures in all areas will provide physical distancing including, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Guest Seating
- Concourses and Gathering Places
- Restrooms
- Deep cleaning of the entire venue will take place, including disinfecting of all high frequency touch points and all high traffic areas
- Staff will continue to clean and disinfect throughout the entirety of the game
- Hand sanitizing stations will be readily available throughout Stone Stadium
- Social distancing markers will be placed around the stadium in areas where lines may form such as restroom facilities
- Additional wayfinding and safety signage will be added to indicate queuing at exterior gates, seating section entrances, and parking/transportation areas
- The usage of traditional water fountains will be prohibited.
- Team walk to field
- The team will not walk through the tunnel of fans in front of the Soccer Operations Building to the field for the 2020 season.
- Post Game
- Fans will not be allowed to congregate on the corner of the field at the conclusion of the game for autographs, pictures or for any other reason.
- Gates will open one (1) hour prior to the game
- Fans on player pass lists must enter through they Heyward Street side of the stadium.
- Fans (non-students) with tickets must enter through the Heyward Street side of the stadium.
- Students must enter through the Whaley Street side of the stadium.
- Walk-up ticket sales are not avaialbe for the 2020 season.

- The footprint at all gates and entry and exit points will permit physical distancing between guests
- Signage will be installed at pedestrian paths to the stadium, gates and/or other entry points that outlines mandates
- Mandates include that all guests are required to wear face coverings, maintain physical distancing and states that guests cannot enter the stadium if they display any COVID-19 symptoms as outlined by the CDC
- All tickets will be delivered via mobile device and will be digitally scanned
- Fans will be permitted to park in the Athletic Village parking garage located across from Stone Stadium or in street parking around the stadium.
- Tailgating, including grills, coolers and large buffet-style spreads, are discouraged
- Face coverings will be encouraged to/from parking areas
- The University of South Carolina will:
- have a documented plan that outlines the procedures/protocol for appropriate disinfection of the stadium
- have a documented plan that outlines the procedures/protocol for working with guests who exhibit COVID-19 symptoms
- launch a communication/public relations campaign for communicating all COVID-19 procedures/protocol to prospective guests
- ensure they comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act in the development and implementation of all procedures/protocols
- Restroom layouts have been modified to provide proper social distancing
- Restrooms will be limited based on size
- Cleaning personnel will be assigned to each restroom for increased cleaning
- Hand dryers will not be operable
- Though seats will be general admission for fans on the player-pass list, you must sit in pods with the group that they are attending with. Player-pass tickets will be allowed to sit in designated seats in section 4, 5 and 6.
- Fans who have purchased tickets will be assigned seats to sit in, in sections 3 & 7.
- Students will be required to sit in single seats that will be properly socially distanced in sections 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 & 9.
- Available seating pods will be spaced according to CDC guidelines and will be designated by a seat sticker
- To offer greater convenience and safety, mobile-only ticketing will provide contactless entry to Stone Stadium for all 2020 Gamecock Soccer games

- Student ticketing details will be sent directly to all eligible students from the Department of Student Life
- Player-pass will call pick-up will begin one hour prior to kick-off at the Heyward Street side of Stone Stadium.
- Please note that as we progress throughout the season, tickets for any rescheduled game will be honored at the future date determined. Be aware this may include a different opponent, date, and/or day of the week, depending on circumstance and the SEC’s determining factors.
TICKET TERMS OF USE
This ticket is a revocable license. Use of this ticket constitutes acceptance of the following license terms:
(1) University reserves the right to deny Holder admission to the facility or to remove Holder from the facility, upon refund of purchase price or in the event Holder violates the terms of this license. Holder must comply with all University, State of South Carolina, and Stone Stadium policies, including without limitation any security and fan conduct policies, health and safety policies and assessments. Holder may forfeit ticket privileges if ejected or arrested at the facility. (2) Every person aged 3 and older must have a ticket to the event and facility. Holder must present ticket upon request. (3) Lost, stolen, or counterfeit tickets will not be honored. (4) This ticket may not be resold in violation of South Carolina Law. (5) This ticket may not be used for commercial or trade purposes, including advertising, promotions, contests or sweepstakes, without the express written consent of University. (6) Dates and times of the events are subject to change without notice. (7) “Pass-outs” are not allowed at the facility. Tickets will be scanned for use once. (8) Smoking and Tobacco use is not allowed at the facility and violators are subject to ejection. (9) The following items are not allowed into South Carolina Athletic Facilities: Non approved bags and clutch purses that exceed 4.5” x 6.5”(gamecocksonline.com/clearbag); Bottles (exception: one sealed bottle of water per person), Cans, Flasks, Coolers, Thermoses, or Containers of any kind; Aerosol cans, Spray cans, Mace or pepper spray; Fireworks, explosives, or weapons; Inflatables (beach balls, etc.); Umbrellas, Flags, flagpoles or unauthorized banners; Personal seatbacks with armrests; Unauthorized masks of any kind; Alcoholic beverages, food, or illegal drugs; pets; strollers; irritants such as artificial noisemakers; Detachable camera lenses over 6”, video cameras, recording devices, laser pointers or strobe lights. (10) Intoxication, drug use, abusive language, or other conduct not conducive to a family atmosphere is not allowed at the facility. (11) Holder may not transmit or aid in transmitting any description, account, picture, video, audio, or other form of reproduction of the event. (12) Holder expressly grants University and its licensees the right to use Holder’s image or likeness in connection with any live or recorded transmission or reproduction of the event without further authorization or compensation. (13) Holder voluntarily assumes all risk of personal injury (including death) arising from or related in any way to Holder’s attendance at the event, whether occurring prior to, during or after the event, howsoever caused and whether by negligence or otherwise. (14) HOLDER VOLUNTARILY ASSUMES ALL RISKS, HAZARDS AND DANGERS incident to the Event and related events, including the risk of personal injury (including death), the risk of exposure to communicable diseases, viruses, bacteria or illnesses of the causes thereof, sickness, or lost, stolen or damaged property, whether occurring before, during, or after the Event, (15) GO GAMECOCKS!
