23 Gamecocks Earn NCEA Academic Honors

Waco, Texas – South Carolina equestrian continues to perform in the classroom with 12 members making it onto the NCEA All-Academic teams, two earning recognition for the Academic Honorable Mention Team and nine making the Academic Honor Roll, the NCEA announced Friday.
 
To make the NCEA All-Academic First Team, a rider must compete in a minimum of 70 percent of meets, not including demo or exhibition rides. Each rider must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 with full-time enrollment in classes. Caroline Bald, Trinity Hammerschmidt, Alice Kass, Emma Lane, Emilia Reutimann, Chloe Stephenson, Alexa Thorpe, Sloane Vogt and Cora Wyers were the nine Gamecocks to make the First Team.
 
Riders on the NCEA All-Academic Second Team had to compete in 60 percent of meets this season and have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 with full-time enrollment. The three gamecocks to make the list were Jordan Allen, Alexa Aureliano and Kiersten Beckner.
 
Riders who competed in 50 percent of meets and maintained a 3.0 GPA qualified for the NCEA Academic Honorable Mention Team. Maya Clarkson and Madeline Schaefer were the two Gamecocks to make the team.
 
Nine members of the South Carolina squad made the NCEA Academic Honor Roll which requires athletes to maintain a 3.25 GPA. Mary Margaret Coats, Kit Cunningham, Graycen Hess, Kamiah McGrath, Christina Mueller, Claire Pound, Maro Reppas, Michaela Schrim, and Mackenzie Suffy all made the list.
