Gamecocks Face Razorbacks in Sunday Matinee

Fayetteville, Ark.  – No. 6 South Carolina men’s tennis will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to take on the No. 55 Razorbacks on Sunday, March 27. First serve will be at 2 p.m. ET at the Billingsley Tennis Center. Live stat and streaming links are available on GamecocksOnline.com.
 
Gamecock Notables

  • The Gamecocks are 15-5 on the season with four of their wins coming over top-10 opponents.
  • South Carolina is No. 6 in the latest ITA rankings and has spent all 12 weeks of the season in the top 15, including the last five weeks in the top 10.
  • Junior Daniel Rodrigues is No. 3 in the latest singles rankings. He is on a six-match win streak with five of his wins coming over top-35 opponents – Nos. 18, 19, 21, 25, and 35.
  • With a 9-5 singles record from the No. 2 position, sophomore Toby Samuel is ranked No. 57. He holds ranked wins over Nos. 38, 55, and 71.
  • Doubles pair Rodrigues and Connor Thomson are ranked 13th in the nation. They are 12-3 from the No. 1 doubles position and took down the nation’s No. 2 pair of Ole Miss 6-1 during last weekend’s outing.

Scouting the Opponents
 

  • Arkansas is 10-9 on the season and 1-5 in conference play. The hold a ranked win over then-No. 25 Auburn.
  • The Razorbacks come in at No. 55 in the latest ITA rankings and boast a roster that includes No. 67 Aleksa Bucan and No. 107 Alexandre Reco.
  • Sophomore Melvin Manuel is 11-2 in singles play, primarily from the No. 5 position.
