Kass Earns Flat SEC Rider of the Month Honors
Columbia, S.C. – Senior Alice Kass was named the SEC Co-Rider of the Month on the flat for March the conference announced Wednesday. It is her first conference honor of her career.
“We are so proud of Alice for being recognized by the SEC as the flat Co-rider of the Month,” said head coach Boo Major. “She has worked hard to improve her riding and has entered the starting lineup on a regular basis. It is great that the SEC has recognized her determination, hard work and good riding.”
Kass went 2-0-0 in the final two meets of the regular season. In the single discipline meet against Lynchburg, she notched an 89.5 on the flat that earned a point and secured her first M.O.P. honor of the year. Her score also jumped to the top of the record book as the highest score earned in the event this season for South Carolina. In her outing against then-No. 10 Delaware State, she earned a 74 that completed the 5-0 Gamecock sweep on the flat.
Kass and the Gamecocks are set to compete Thursday in the first round of the SEC Championship. South Carolina will face No. 3 Texas A&M at 11 a.m. ET.
