Women's Cross Country Named All-Academic Team
The Gamecocks earned the honor for the 17th consecutive season
COLUMBIA—The South Carolina cross country team was honored with academic award by the USTFCCCA, it was announced Thursday.
“In these challenging times, it’s great to see us continuing our academic success in women’s cross country and track and field,” said cross country coach Andrew Allden. “It’s a tribute to the hard work by the women’s team on a daily basis. It’s also indicative of the hard work our academic staff puts in at the Dodie Anderson Academic Enrichment Center.”
The Gamecocks’ women’s cross country team was awarded All-Academic Team honors for their performance in the classroom.
South Carolina earned a 3.75 GPA, which was tied for 23rd-best in the country out of the 168 teams that earned All-Academic honors. In order to qualify, teams must attain a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
The Gamecocks were also had the highest GPA of any women’s cross country program in the SEC.
It is the 17th consecutive season that the Gamecocks have been awarded All-Academic Team honors.
