Manning Named to AVCA All-Region Team

She is the 14th individual in program history to receive the honor

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina’s Kyla Manning made the 14-woman All-Southeast Region team, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Tuesday morning. Manning is the 14th Gamecock in the program’s 49-year history to make a postseason regional team, the third in the last four years under current head coach Tom Mendoza.

Along with Manning, Mikayla Robinson made the honorable mention list. She previously made honorable mention for the 2020-21 season and made the official All-Region team in 2019.

Manning fit a prolific career into just two seasons and 51 games played at South Carolina. The graduate student led the team with 357 kills this season,10th-most in a season in the rally-scoring era, while taking over 250 more swings than any other hitter on the team. Of her 29 games played, she reached double-digit kills 21 times and also led the team with eight double-doubles. She compiled over 630 kills, 375 digs, 80 blocks and 45 service aces as a Gamecock.

South Carolina finished the season with a 14-15 record overall, reaching the NCAA tournament for the third time in the last four seasons.
