No. 6 Gamecocks Go Low in Round Two at Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. — No. 6 South Carolina is in second after 36 holes of the 2021 Landfall Tradition after going low in Saturday’s second round. The Gamecocks shot a field-best 278 (-10) and trail No. 15 Michigan by a shot heading into the final round on Sunday.
 
True freshman Louise Rydqvist paced Carolina with a 67 (-5) that featured seven birdies. She carded five red numbers on her final six holes of the round.
 
Fellow freshman Hannah Darling and redshirt senior transfer Tai Anudit each posted red numbers too with 3-under 69s. Darling poured in six birdies. Anudit made four and was bogey free up until her last hole at the par-5 18^th.
 
Junior transfer Justine Fournand was the final counting score with a 73 (+1). She’s in solo second at 4-under through 36 holes, three shots behind the Wolverines’ Mikaela Schulz.
 
It’s an 8:45 a.m. (ET) shotgun start for the final round on Sunday at Country Club of Landfall’s Dye Course. South Carolina will be paired with Michigan and Michigan State.
