Logan Frost Earns Co-Offensive Player of the Week Honors
Frost is the first Gamecock to earn a conference weekly award since Feb. 16
COLUMBIA—Logan Frost earned Conference USA Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against UAB, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Frost scored two goals in the Gamecocks’ 2-0 victory over the Blazers on Saturday night. The brace was Frost’s first multi-goal effort of his career.
Frost gave the Gamecocks a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute with his game-winning goal. Frost took a long pass from midfield and worked up the left side of the penalty box. He took a couple dribbles to his right, put a shot past the UAB keeper and buried a goal in the bottom left corner of the net.
In the 52nd minute, Frost took a pass from Peter Clement in transition and buried a shot in the bottom left side of the frame.
Frost’s multi-goal performance was the first time a Gamecock scored multiple goals since Feb. 14 when Andrew Halloran scored three goals against Winthrop. Frost’s two goals also made him the team leader in points with nine and goals with three.
Frost becomes the first Carolina men’s soccer player to earn C-USA weekly honors since Feb. 16 when Halloran was honored for his aforementioned performance against Winthrop.
Frost and the Gamecocks take on Georgia Southern Tuesday night at 7 p.m. inside of Stone Stadium.
