Columbia,S.C. – The South Carolina Equestrian team travels to Judson College this weekend Nov. 8-9 to comptete in another IHSA event. The Gamecocks’ last IHSA event was in October against Berry College. In that event, the Gamecocks prevailed in the western and hunt seat competitions.

The team was on the road against Auburn for their last competition on October 25 and won the head-to-head meeting 1150.9 to 1112.5. This competition will be using only the western format. In the Gamecocks’ other IHSA events, both western and hunt seat competitions were used.

There were many contributors to USC’s road head-to-head win. Kelley Campbell led the team and tied Chelsea Koornick for most points in the Huntseat Fences competition. Rachel Sternoff led the team in western equitation while Elizabeth Briley placed second in western equitation and reining.

This competition will be using only the western format. In the Gamecocks’ other IHSA events both western and hunt seat competition was used.

This will be USC’s last competition until February 7, when they host Kansas State at the Irish Oak Equestrian Centre.
