Gamecocks Announce 2021-22 Schedule
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina equestrian announced its 2021-22 schedule on Monday. The 11 meets on the schedule feature five home and six away competitions.
“We are excited to start a new year with new beginnings,” head coach Boo Major said. “We are also happy to start non-conference competitions again, as last year we only competed within the SEC. We have a young group, but they are eager to get going.”
Ahead of the regular season, South Carolina will host a Garnet & Black scrimmage on Friday, Sept. 24, at One Wood Farm in Blythewood, S.C.
Carolina will begin its official season out west in California against UC Davis on Thursday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m. PDT. The Gamecocks will also compete in a tri-meet against Fresno State and TCU on Friday, Oct. 1, and Saturday, Oct. 2.
Later that month, South Carolina returns to One Wood Farm to compete against its first SEC foe of the season in Texas A&M on Friday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m. The Gamecocks will close out their fall competitions on the road taking on Auburn on Friday, Oct. 29, and Georgia on Saturday, Nov. 13.
Following a winter break, the Gamecocks will pick back up with a meet at One Wood Farm on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. against Auburn.
South Carolina will have its last two road contests starting with a matchup against Baylor on Friday, Feb. 18. Carolina will close out the weekend on the road on Saturday, Feb. 19, with the team’s second bout against Texas A&M this season.
The following weekend, the Gamecocks return home for the final three meets of the regular season. They will face Georgia, their final SEC opponent, on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m. On Friday, March 4, at 10 a.m., South Carolina will take on Delaware State.
Carolina will close out the regular season with a meet against Lynchburg College on Saturday, March 5, at 11 a.m.
This year, Auburn hosts the SEC Championships from March 25 to 26 in Auburn, Ala. The NCEA Championships will take place in Ocala, Fla., from April 14 to 16. South Carolina is a three-time national champion, capturing the title in 2005, 2007 and 2015.
