New gaffer trains team for first time on the pitch
COLUMBIA, S.C. —- New South Carolina men’s soccer coach Tony Annan fielded questions Tuesday night following the his first full day of training the Gamecocks as the team is just seven days away from taking the pitch under the guidance of the new manager.
Annan’s squad returns 22 players from last year’s squad and welcomes in five newcomers looking to make their impact for the first time.
Carolina opens the season on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Stone Stadium in an exhibition match against Anderson University.
Including exhibitions, the Gamecocks are set for 12 matches at home and six on the road. Fans will have plenty of opportunities to catch Carolina in action with 14 chances to see the team in the Carolinas.
2021 soccer season tickets are now available. A season ticket includes admission to all twenty home men’s and women’s soccer games at Stone Stadium this fall. Season tickets start at $25 for adults and $10 for youth, 17 and under. This year, fans can also upgrade their season ticket to include a limited-edition Gamecock soccer scarf for an additional $10.
