Gamecocks Drop Road Match To FAU
Boca Raton, Fla. —- South Carolina men’s soccer dropped a 2-1 match to FAU on Saturday. The Owls used goals at the 2-minute mark and 21st minute to secure the Conference USA victory.
Brian Banahan’s fifth goal of the season off the Justin Kopay assist at the 61-minute mark cut the deficit in half heading into the final stretch of the match before the Owls (5-2-2, 2-2-0 C-USA) held on for their second-straight conference win in as many matches.
FAU out-shot the Gamecocks (6-6-1, 0-3-1) 13-11 and held a 7-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Carolina returns to action against UAB on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. ET in the second-to-last home game of the season.
