Senior Spotlight: Trinity Hammerschmidt

Hailing from Montpelier, Virginia, Trinity Hammerschmidt was a double threat for the Gamecocks competing in both Jumping Seat disciplines. In her final year, Hammerschmidt posted an 8-6-0 record record on the Flat, while also picking up two wins in Fences.

Hammerschmidt began the year on the Flat 6-0-0, finishing with two more wins on the season and an MOP against Minnesota Crookston. During the season, the fifth year tallied a 90 against No. 1 SMU, the second-highest score of the season in the event and the fifth-highest in program history. Hammerschmidt led her fellow Flat riders in winning % (.571), with an average winning margin of 6.7 points during the regular season.

For the second time in her career this season, Hammerschmidt picked up All-America honors, earning a Second Team selection on the Flat. She rounded out her time as Gamecock this season as a two-time All-American, three-time All-SEC selection, and was named both an NCEA and SEC Rider of the Month (twice).

In the classroom Hammerschmidt has excelled, earning a three-time NCEA Academic All-American status, and is a five-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member. This Spring, Hammerschmidt was also named the SEC McWhorter Scholarship recipient for South Carolina.
