• Talented first-year player who rounded into form in SEC play after missing time to start the year with mononucleosis ; helped get the team back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017 after tying a program record with 26 wins
• Saw action in 28 games, starting the final 19 for the Gamecocks ; averaged 10.4 points, 5.7 rebounds (led team), 1.8 assists, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 steals per game en route to earning SEC All-Freshman honors
• Scored in double figures 13 times and led the team with a pair of double-doubles
• Shot 59.7 percent (117-196) from the floor to lead the team and also had a team-high 21 dunks
• Made his debut in Garnet & Black vs. George Washington (Dec. 1) ; scored his first career points in the blowout win
• Had his first double-figure game with 10 points in a win over Elon (Dec. 22) ; followed that up with 17 points in the non-conference finale vs. Florida A&M (Dec. 30)
• Made first career start in overtime road win at Missouri (Jan. 13) ; had six points, six rebounds and three assists
• Scored in double-figures for the first time in SEC play finishing with 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and a block in a road win at Arkansas (Jan. 20)
• Was impactful on both ends of the floor with six points, nine rebounds, five assists, three blocks and two steals in a home victory over No. 6/6 Kentucky (Jan. 23)
• Scored 16 points in back-to-back SEC wins at Georgia (Feb. 3) and vs. Ole Miss (Feb. 6) ; had a crucial block late on 7-5 Jamarion Sharp to seal the win over the Rebels
• Had breakout game with 31 points on 14-of-17 (82.4 percent) shooting in a double-digit win vs. Vanderbilt (Feb. 10) ; became the first SEC freshman since Bobby Portis of Arkansas in 2014 to record 30 or more points with 13 or more made field goals while shooting above 80 percent ; also became the third Gamecock freshman to record a 30-point game since Carolina joined the SEC in 1991-92 (Gregory “GG” Jackson II in 2023 and Bruce Ellington in 2010 the others) ; also became just the third Gamecock the last 25 seasons to record 30 points on 80 percent or better shooting in an SEC game
• Had eight points, 12 rebounds and four blocks in road win at Texas A&M (Feb. 28) ; was his first career game with double-digit rebounds
• Recorded back-to-back double-doubles vs. No. 24/24 Florida (March 2) and No. 4/4 Tennessee (March 6) ; had 15 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks in a win over the Gators ; had 11 points, 11 rebounds, three blocks and two steals against the Vols
• Finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals in an overtime win at Mississippi State (March 9) ; was 9-of-10 (90.0 percent) from the floor
• Led team to its first win in the SEC Tournament since 2018 in round two vs. Arkansas (March 14) with 24 points, seven rebounds, four steals and two assists ; was 11-of-15 (73.3 percent from the floor) ; his 11 made field goals were a new school record in SEC Tournament play

PRE-SOUTH CAROLINA

• Consensus four-star recruit and top player in the state, ranked No. 64 in final ESPN Top-100, No. 89 in 247Sports rankings and No. 104 by On3
• Played his senior year at Wasatch Academy, which is a part of the newly formed National Interscholastic Basketball Conference (NIBC), a league that features that top high school programs in the nation
• Led the team averaging 15.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.0 steals per game
• His 15.0 points per game were third in the NIBC and his 8.8 rebounds led the conference
• Played three seasons at AC Flora in Columbia before attending Wasatch
• Led the Falcons to a 24-7 record as a junior and an appearance in the state title game ; averaged 18.3 points, 11.4 rebounds, 5.3 blocks and 2.5 assists per game
• Was named 2022 4A Player of the Year in South Carolina

• Son of Yvonne and Sean – has two older brothers: Armani and James
• James was standout at UNC Pembroke (2015-19), scoring 1,369 career points ; he currently plays professionally overseas
