Bree Hall Joins SEC Basketball Leadership Council
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball junior Bree Hall was named women’s basketball vice chair of the SEC Basketball Leadership Council for 2023-24, the league office announced today. Officers for men’s and women’s basketball were selected by their peers at last week’s meetings in Birmingham.
In her first season on the council, Hall follows in the footsteps of former Gamecock Laeticia Amihere, who was the women’s basketball chair in 2021-22, and a member of the council for three seasons. A 2023 CSC Academic All-District selection and two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member, Hall has played in 71 career games off the bench at South Carolina over the last two seasons. Her defensive presence is matched with solid outside shooting, setting the stage for her to take on more minutes in her junior season ahead.
“It means a lot to me that my peers think I’m the right person for this role,” Hall said. “I’m excited to be vice chair of the women’s basketball council, and I look forward to working behalf of all women’s basketball student-athletes.”
The SEC Student-Athlete Leadership Councils provide an opportunity for SEC student-athletes to engage with campus leaders and conference office staff. Leadership Counciles for football and men’s and women’s basketball, along with SAAC, provide a conduit of communication to the conference office on issues related to the student-athlete experience, student-athlete wellness and playing rules.
