Gamecocks Shine in International Competition

Columbia, S.C.  –  University of South Carolina golfers Ana Pelaez and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard each found success competing at the international level over the weekend.
 
Pelaez took second at the Spanish Individual Women’s Championship in Valencia, Spain, finishing the weekend with an 8-under 280. The senior found herself near the top of the leaderboard the entire weekend, finishing the first round in second place, and then taking control of the lead during the second round. Pelaez finished four strokes behind the lead today to earn her second place finish.
 
Roussin-Bouchard also took second place in her tournament, the GTGA Invitational in Berlin, Germany. The sophomore shot a 67 in the opening round to put her in a tie for first before falling one stroke behind the lead in the second round. Roussin-Bouchard took the lead after the third round, but fell by two strokes in the final round finishing with a 9-under 279 for the weekend.

Incoming freshman Paula Kirner also competed at the GTGA Invitational, just barely missing the cut before the final round. 
 
Both women are gearing up for the 2020-21 Gamecock golf season where the multi-time All-American honorees will be joined by fellow All-Americans Lois Kaye Go and Pimnipa Panthong to field a starting lineup of with four All-Americans.
