Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s golf team picked up another top ten finish. The Gamecocks fired a four-over-par 292 to claim seventh place in the prestigious Carpet Capital Collegiate tournament at The Farm in Rocky Face, Ga. USC (297-288-292=877) fired a three-round total of 13-over-par to earn their third top-10 finish of the season.

Florida (295-277-281) played the third round seven-under-par to take first place in the tournament with a three-round total of 853.

Sophomore Eirik Johansen (76-67-65) had his best finish of the year after firing a seven-under-par 65 to help him up the leaderboard and into second place. Johansen’s 65, which included seven birdies, is the best round by any Gamecock this year. The Stavanger, Norway, native played the final two-rounds of the tournament in an impressive twelve-under-par to finish with a three-round total of 208.

Alex Hamilton (75-71-72) carded an even-par 72 to earn a tie for 25th place, his top finish of the year. Hamilton carded an eagle on hole 12 to help him to a three-round total of 218.

Martin Rominger finished in a tie for 52nd after shooting 224. West Streib and Matt Robinson finished with a three-round total of 230 and 238, respectively.

Texas’s Jason Hartwick finished in first place after a three-day total of 13-under-par.
