Columbia, S.C. – The seventh-ranked South Carolina men’s soccer team fell to No. 22 Washington, 3-0, in the final match of the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash. The Huskies improved to 6-0-1, while the Gamecocks fell to 7-2-0.

Washington’s Leo Totev scored his fourth goal of the season at 24:06. Assisted by Sean Giudice, Totev knocked the ball past Gamecock goalkeeper, Brad Guzan, to give the Huskies a one-goal lead.

Washington scored two more goals in the second half. At 53:33, Casey Armstrong headed in Totev’s corner kick to give the huskies a 2-0 lead. One minute later Totev netted his second goal of the match.

The Gamecocks outshot the Huskies 14-11, including 12 shots in the second half. South Carolina also held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Guzan tallied three saves, while Washington’s Danny Waltman recorded six saves.

South Carolina returns to action, Sunday, Oct. 5 when they head to Clemson for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
