Lambling Wins, Moves on to Consolation Final

COLUMBIA, S.C.—   After picking up two more ranked wins, South Carolina men’s tennis sophomore Raphael Lambling has advanced to the consolation final of the 2019 Oracle ITA Fall National Championships.
 
The Gamecock sophomore faced off against two top-100 opponents on Saturday and disposed of both of them. In the quarterfinals, Lambling took down No. 69 Kareem Allaf of Iowa. After splitting the first two sets, the Paris native scored a late service break to take the final set 7-5.
 
In the semifinals, Lambing squared off against No. 96 Kody Pearson of Tulsa. Lambling jumped out to a quick lead with a 6-0 first set. Pearson answered with a 6-1 second set to level the match, but Lambling would not be denied a title shot, putting away Pearson in set three 6-1.
 
Lambling will face off against No. 29 Gabriel Decamps of UCF in tomorrow’s final.
 
Wake Forest Fall Invitational
In Winston-Salem, Thomas Browns notched a victory defeating Yizhou Liu of Clemson 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
