Gamecocks in Second at Landfall Tradition

Wilmington, N.C. – The South Carolina women’s golf team used a strong performance Saturday to move into second place at the Landfall Tradition on the Pete Dye Course in Wilmington.  
 
The Gamecocks entered the day tied for fourth place after a 1-over round on Friday but used a 3-under to take sole possession of second place heading into the final round.  
 
“Really proud of our comeback today after a challenging finish yesterday,” head coach Kalen Anderson said. “Solid performances by our freshman and Ana. We have great energy and momentum moving into the final day tomorrow.”
 
Senior Ana Pelaez continues her stellar weekend with another 1-under on Saturday, she’s tied for sixth with 2-under so far. Freshman Pauline Roussin-Bouchard is also tied for sixth place after her 2-under on Saturday.
 
Freshman Mathilde Claisse shot a 2-under on Saturday to jump into a tie for 17th place with a 1-over for the tournament. Joining Claisse is senior Lois Kaye Go who sits at 1-over for the tournament after her 74 on Saturday.
 
The Gamecocks look to finish their fall slate with a win when the final round of the Landfall Traditon gets started on Sunday. Action is set to begin with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start.
