Gamecocks Announce Spring Slate

Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s golf team announced its spring schedule on Friday. The Gamecocks are set to compete in four tournaments, including the 2020 Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, before moving on to postseason play.
 
Carolina opens with a trip south of the boarder to Guadalajara, Mexico for the Guadalajara Invitational, hosted by the University of Virginia on Feb. 16-18.
 
Next the Gamecocks come back to the Palmetto state to host the ninth annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at the Long Cove Club in Hilton Head on March 6-8. The Garnet and Black look to improve upon last year’s second place finish where then junior Lois Kaye Go finished in a tie for 10^th pace. Sophomore Emily Price made an impact at her first Darius when she tied for 12^th place.
 
After wrapping up at the Darius the Gamecocks will travel to Georgia for the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on March 20-22. After earning a No. 3 seed during the stroke-play portion of the tournament the Gamecocks knocked off Ole Miss and Georgia to earn a spot in the championship match against Augusta University where Carolina defeated Augusta 3-2 to win the 2019 Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic. Senior Anita Uwadia went 3-0 in her matchups during the tournament to help secure the win.
 
The final tournament of regular season has the Garnet and Black returning to the Carolinas for a trip to the Bryan National Collegiate at the Bryan Park Champions Golf Course in Brown Summit, N.C. on April 5-7. Carolina last competed at the Bryan National Collegiate in 2018 where it took fifth place.
 
Postseason play gets started with a trip to the Greystone Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, Ala. for the 2020 SEC Championship set for April 15-19. The Gamecocks will head to Alabama looking to avenge last year’s second place finish where it took four playoff holes to decide the SEC Champion. Carolina has finished as the runner-up in back-to-back seasons.
 
On April 29 the Gamecocks will find out where they’re playing their NCAA Regionals rounds at, set for May 11-13, with the NCAA Championship set for May 22-27 at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
