Junior Nathan Franks shot 69 (-3) to lead the team in round two at Grand Reserve Golf Club

RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – South Carolina is 13^th at 6-under as a team after 36 holes of the Puerto Rico Classic. Carolina shot 284 (-4) on Monday in the second round with red numbers from redshirt sophomore Frankie Harris, junior Nathan Franks and freshman Bo Carpenter.

Franks paced the Gamecocks today with a bogey free 69 (-3). He made a birdie on the front and two birdies on the back nine.

Carpenter shot 70 (-3) with four birdies on his scorecard. Harris shot 71 (-1) and also had four birdies on his scorecard that came in a six-hole stretch on the front nine.

Senior Rafe Reynolds was the final counting score with a 74 (+2). Sophomore Zach Adams also shot 74 (+2). Sixth year Lansdon Robbins is playing as individual this week, and he shot 70 (-2) with six birdies for the round.

Georgia is the 36-hole leader by two shots over North Florida. The Bulldogs shot a field-best 268 (-20) today and sit at 33-under overall for the tournament. Purdue’s Nels Surtani has the individual lead by a shot over Iowa’s Noah Kent at 12-under. Surtani shot 65 (-7) in round two.

The Gamecocks will be paired with Marquette and College of Charleston for the final round on Tuesday. It’s another shotgun start for the field with tee times moved up an hour to 6:30 a.m. (ET).
