No. 5 Gamecocks Back At It In Augusta Friday

Tournament moved up a day due to inclement weather forecasted for Saturday
AUGUSTA, Ga. – No. 5 South Carolina is back on the competition trail tomorrow at the Valspar Augusta Invitational. Due to inclement weather forecasted on Saturday, the first and second rounds will take place tomorrow at Forest Hills Golf Club.
Saturday is expected to be rained out and play will resume on Sunday weather permitting.
Junior All-Americans Hannah Darling and Lousie Rydqvist remain in the top two spots in the lineup this week. Darling is fresh off her first career win at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. Rydqvist has finished in the top-20 in all six of her stroke play starts this season.
Freshman Vairana Heck holds firm in third position with sophomore Mia Sandtorv Lussand and freshman Maylis Lamoure rounding out the Gamecocks counting five scores this week. Senior Sophia Burnett will compete as an individual.
Carolina is one of five top-25 teams in the field this week joined by No. 1 Wake Forest, No. 14 Ole Miss, No. 16 Clemson and No. 21 Florida State.
