Men’s Tennis Travel to Cary for ITA Regionals

COLUMBIA, S.C.— South Carolina men’s tennis will head back on the road as it travels to Cary N.C. for the ITA Carolina Regionals which will be hosted by Duke University at Cary Tennis Park from Friday, Oct. 18 through Oct. 22. Seven Gamecocks will compete in the four-day tournament.

Three Gamecocks come in as top-ten seeds in the tournament. Daniel Rodrigues, who is ranked No. 35 in the country comes in as the No. 2 seed. Raphael Lambling, ranked 110, comes in as the sixth seed and Connor Thomson comes in as the 10 seed.

Gamecock Notables
– Freshman Connor Thomson enters the tournament with a team best 9-2 record.
– The duo of Thomas Brown and Beau Pelletier captured the White Doubles title at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational on Monday, winning 6-2.
– Four Gamecocks have notched five or more singles wins this fall (Brown, Pelletier, Phillip Jordan and Thomson).

“It’s a big event, you have all the teams from North and South Carolina. It’s a great event. You’ve got some great schools in there, great doubles teams coming, but it’s an opportunity for every single guy on our team to really make a breakthrough. It’s an unbelievable event in the sense that you can build seven rounds through and hopefully end up Tuesday with a trophy in your hand, every guy on our team can actually do that.
