South Carolina squares off with Arkansas at approximately 3:30 p.m. (ET) on SEC Network; Gamecocks seeking first win in SEC Tournament since 2018.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No. 15/16 South Carolina (25-6, 13-5) opens postseason play on Thursday afternoon in the second round of the SEC Tournament. The Gamecocks will square off with Arkansas (16-16, 6-12 SEC) with a trip to the SEC Quarterfinals on the line.
Estimated tip-off is 3:30 p.m. (ET). It is the second game of session two at Bridgestone Arena and will start 25 minutes after the conclusion of game one.
History will be on the line as South Carolina looks to pick up its 26th victory of the season, which would tie the 2016-17 Final Four team for the most single-season in program history.
The two teams last met in the SEC Tournament in round two in 2018 in St. Louis at the Scottrade Center. The Razorbacks were victorious, 69-64.
Carolina is 21-31 all-time in the SEC Tournament since joining the league in 1991-92. The Gamecocks are seeking the program’s first SEC Tournament win since 2018 in the opening round against Ole Miss.
Arkansas defeated Vanderbilt 90-85 in overtime tonight at Bridgestone Arena. The Razorbacks trailed by 14 at halftime, 41-27. They outscored the Commodores 63-46 the final 25 minutes of the game. Khalif Battle led the team with 24 points, 21 of which came in the second half and overtime period. Tramon Mark had 18 and Makhi Mitchell also had 18.
