Gamecocks to Play Michigan in Las Vegas
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball will open its 2024-25 season against Michigan at the Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas on Mon., Nov. 4, at T-Mobile Arena. Tickets for the event go on sale Tue., May 21, at 1 p.m. ET at HOFSeries.com, and the Gamecocks are also offering an exclusive FAMS Travel Package.
The limited number of FAMS Travel Packages, which also go on sale Tuesday at 1 p.m. ET via GamecocksOnline.com, include a seat on the team’s charter flight between Columbia and Las Vegas , airport transportation, hotel accommodations, a game ticket and an exclusive team experience while in Las Vegas. The team charter will depart on Sat., Nov. 2, and return after the game on Mon., Nov. 4. Single occupancy packages are $3,500, and double occupancy packages, either king or two queen beds, are $5,800 and include access for two people to all portions of the package.
“We’re excited to have another great destination and event to start our 2024-25 season – for our team and for our FAMS,” South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley said. “The Hall of Fame Series has become an incredible showcase for the country’s best teams in both men’s and women’s basketball, and we’re looking forward to adding our names to that slate this season. After hosting the Las Vegas Aces for a preseason game in Columbia this spring, it’s only fitting that we get to go to Las Vegas to launch our season this fall!”
November’s meeting will be the first between the Gamecocks and Wolverines since December 1995. South Carolina leads the all-time series 3-0.
The men’s game of the Las Vegas doubleheader will feature Texas vs. Ohio State. Details surrounding game times and television information will be announced at a later date.
The Hall of Fame Series, owned and operated by Position Sports, is a collection of multi-game, singular events that showcase several of the top collegiate basketball teams in exciting non-conference matchups played both domestically and abroad. The inaugural Hall of Fame Series was held in 2023 in Las Vegas, Charlotte, San Antonio, Toronto and Phoenix.
South Carolina tipped off last season with an historic game in Paris, where it notched the first of its 38-consecutive victories en route to the 2024 National Championship. The 2024-25 Gamecocks return three of their four All-SEC performers, including All-American Te-Hina Paopao and NCAA Albany 1 Regional All-Tournament selection Raven Johnson, in addition to SEC Tournament MVP MiLaysia Fulwiley and NCAA Final Four All-Tournament selection Tessa Johnson.
