South Carolina women’s soccer travels north on Wednesday evening to Spartanburg, S.C. as the Gamecocks face Wofford in a non-conference match with kickoff set for 7 p.m. Carolina is coming off a successful week at home in which the Gamecocks defeated Davidson 4-1 and N.C. State 1-0. Carolina is 4-3-1 on the season and Wofford is 3-2-1 on the year. The Gamecocks own an 8-0 lead in the series vs. the Terriers including last year’s 1-0 win in Columbia.
South Carolina returned to the regional rankings this week as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) ranked the Gamecocks ninth in the Southeast Region. Following Wednesday night’s match atWofford, Carolina will travel to Athens, Ga. over the weekend to play in the UGA/Nike Invitational. South Carolina will face Georgia Southern at 5 p.m. ET on Friday evening and Liberty at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday morning. The Gamecocks open the SEC season on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. vs. the Auburn Tigers, defending SEC champion.
