Gamecocks Send Ten Swimmers to U.S. Olympic Trials

Indianapolis, Ind. – South Carolina swimming will be well-represented at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Indianapolis. The Gamecocks will have six women and four men competing in a total of 14 events. The ten Gamecocks will be among 700 Olympic hopefuls who are competing for one of 52 available spots over the next nine days.

Leading the team is rising junior Jordan Agliano who earned Olympic Trial cut times in three different events. Agliano will compete in the 100 fly, 200 fly, and 200 back at the trials.

Also in multiple events are rising senior Greta Pelzek and recent grad Bella Pantano. Pelzek will join Agliano in the 100 and 200 fly while Pantano will compete in the 100 and 200 back.

South Carolina’s highest seeded entry of the trials is rising sophomore Delaney Franklin. The Seneca, S.C., native is the No. 19 seed in the women’s 200 breast. Franklin surpassed the cut time of 2:31.69 with a 2:29.46 that she achieved in April of this year.

Rounding things out for the Gamecock women are Meaghan Harnish who will compete in the 400 IM and Amy Riordan who will compete in the 200 free.

Representing South Carolina’s men’s team at the event are rising sophomores Ryan Hufford and Raymond Prosinski, as well as rising seniors Liam Kerns and Wylie Kruse. Hufford will compete in the 100 back, Kruse in the 200 back, Kerns in the 100 breast, and Prosinski in the 400 IM.

Indianapolis hosted the U. S. Olympic Trials in 1924 when the Olympic team swam in Paris and is once again hosting in 2024 as USA Swimming looks to nominate a team for this year’s Paris Games.

The Trials will be held for the first time ever at Lucas Oil Stadium. The football stadium was transformed into the world’s largest natatorium with two temporary 50 meter pools and one temporary 25 meter pool constructed for the event.

More information on the Trials can be found here with ticketing information available here. Preliminary heats will begin each day at 11:00 a.m. with finals scheduled for 7:45 p.m.

All sessions of the Trials can be streamed live on Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com and the NBC/NBC Sports apps. More information on how to watch can be found here.
