Josh Bronstorph Named Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina head men’s soccer coach Tony Annan announced the hiring of Josh Bronstorph as an assistant coach. Bronstorph comes to Columbia after spending last three seasons coaching at the collegiate level on the staffs at Oglethorpe University and Georgia Southern.

Bronstorph hails from Atlanta where he began playing for Norcross Soccer Club before making the transition to Georgia United Developmental Academy. While playing for Dunwoody High School, he was named the first Gatorade Soccer Player of the Year in school history after scoring 44 goals and 19 assists his senior season.

He had a very successful college career with Georgia Southern (2016-17) and Oglethorpe (2018-19). Bronstorph was an All-Conference First Team selection in 2019, while leading the league in assists. In 2018 he led the team to a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) conference title and NCAA appearance, and in 2019 helped the Petrels offense rank No. 2 in the nation in scoring average. He was a Premier Development League (now USL League Two) All-Conference selection in 2019 for Houston FC.

Bronstorph graduated from Oglethorpe in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He then earned a master’s degree in kinesiology (coaching) from Georgia Southern, where he spent two years as an assistant coach. At Georgia Southern, Bronstorph helped identify prospects for the NCAA Division I program and developed their recruitment strategy. He spent last season at Oglethorpe and helped them win the SAA regular season and tournament titles.
