South Carolina Athletics

Gamecocks seek to build on impressive that has featured four-straight NCAA Championship appearances this upcoming season

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Head coach Kalen Anderson announced her team’s 2024-25 schedule on Monday. The Gamecocks will compete in eight regular season events before beginning postseason play in April.

Expectations remain high for Anderson and her team as all six contributing players return from last season’s squad which won four times and finished the season ranked No. 7 in the country via Clippd. Anderson was named SEC Coach of the Year for the fourth time last spring. It was her third time winning the award in the last four seasons. All-Americans Hannah Darling and Louise Rydqvist return for their senior seasons as they look to cement their legacies in Garnet and Black.

“I’m incredibly excited to get the 2024-25 season underway,” said Anderson. “We look forward to competing against strong fields on elite venues all season long.”

Carolina will open the season again at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate Sept. 9-11. It’ll mark the team’s 10th appearance in the prestigious fall event, which annually features one of the top fields in women’s college golf. The Gamecocks are the defending champions and have won the tournament three times (2014, 2021, 2023).

Carolina then returns to the Mason Rudolph Championship (Sept. 22-24) and the Windy Citty Collegiate Classic (Sept. 30-Oct. 1) with the fall concluding at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup (Oct. 21-23) at Oklahoma City Country Club. It’ll be the team’s fourth straight appearance in the Stephens Cup which features six of the top women’s and men’s programs in the nation each fall. Tickets for this year’s tournament are on sale now and can be purchased by clicking here.

The Gamecocks will head west again to open the spring Feb. 2-4, looking to defend the team’s title at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge. Carolina will then head south to Florida Feb. 16-18 as the team makes its return to the Moon Golf Invitational.

The 13th edition of the greatest show in women’s collegiate golf, the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, is set for March 3-5. The Gamecocks play host to the annual event in conjunction with Long Cove Club and Darius Rucker. It has quickly turned into the premiere spring event in the country with Golf Channel providing live, three-day coverage the past three seasons.

The team will host the Old Barnwell Derby Match Play again March 17-18 to conclude the regular season. The SEC Championship will take place April 14-18 at Pelican Golf Club outside of Tampa for the second consecutive season.

NCAA Regionals are set for May 5-7 at six sites across the country. The top-five teams at each site will advance to the NCAA Championship May 16-21, which is being played at Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, Calif. for the second-straight season. The Gamecocks will be seeking the team’s fifth-straight NCAA Championship appearance.
