Women to Host Clemson Thursday Night

COLUMBIA, SC – South Carolina women’s soccer (RV/#25)* will take on Clemson (25/11) at home in Stone Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 6:00 p.m. looking for a point in the coveted Palmetto Series presented by the South Carolina Education Lottery. The game will be live on ESPNU.

LAST TIME OUT

The Gamecocks return to Columbia after a trip to Ohio, coming back with two ties including against the No.16 Buckeyes of Ohio State (Aug. 29). In the final five minutes of play against OSU, sophomore Cuyler Zulauf scored her first collegiate goal to grab the 1-1 equalizer for South Carolina and keep the Buckeyes from the win. Junior keeper Tina Tsaousis had a huge game, tallying a career-high seven saves.

South Carolina then faced Miami (Oh) on Sunday (Sept. 1), recording their first clean sheet of the season after a 0-0 draw with the RedHawks.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS

South Carolina and Clemson will face off for the 31st time in program history, having played each other yearly since the Gamecocks’ inaugural season in 1995. The Tigers hold a 16-11-3 advantage, but the teams have tied in the last two matchups. The Gamecocks, however, lead in Palmetto Series matchups, 3-1-2.

The pair last faced off on the road at Clemson (Aug. 17), ending in a 0-0 draw. The Tigers head into the match 4-1-0, most recently defeating Campbell 3-1. Sophomore transfer Christian Brathwaite scored her first goal of the season while freshman Kendall Bodak netted her second of the year. The third goal came from a Campbell own-goal at the 32-minute mark.

PARKING INFO:

Fans will have the option to park in the grass lot located behind the Athletic Village Parking Garage, at any of the City of Columbia metered spots located around Stone Stadium (subject to fees required through the ParkMobile app), the Roost parking lot, or the parking lot at the indoor tennis facility. The Athletics Village Parking Garage will not be available.

Single-game tickets are now on sale. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth 17 and under, and $3 for groups of 15 or more (with pre-purchase).
