Gamecock Athletics to Host Reunion Event to Celebrate 50 Years of Women’s Varsity Sports

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina’s Department of Athletics announced Tuesday that a reunion event to celebrate 50 Years of Women’s Sports at South Carolina will take place on Sunday, Jan. 12, during the South Carolina women’s basketball game against Texas.

In August, the department introduced a year-long focus on the 50 years of legendary moments in Gamecock women’s sports and the individuals who laid the foundation for the generations of women that have thrived since. A website dedicated to the year’s theme can be FOUND HERE, with historical photos, defining moments and ways to continue supporting women’s sports at South Carolina.

The January reunion event aims to bring former female student-athletes across the decades back to campus to celebrate.
