Gamecocks Take Third at The Tindall on West Coast

Trio of players finish in the top-20 this week for Carolina led by redshirt junior Frankie Harris

SAMMAMISH, Wash. – South Carolina ascended up the leaderboard to finish third at The Tindall on Tuesday. The Gamecocks shot 7-under (277) and 9-under (275) the final two rounds to post a 54-hole total of 835 (-17).

Redshirt junior Frankie Harris fired back-to-back scores of 66 (-5) in rounds two and three with just one bogey over the course of his final 36 holes of the tournament. He led the team this week with a solo, fourth-place finish at 9-under. His 54-hole total of 204 is a new career low mark. The Boca Raton, Fla., native was bogey free today as he rose 10 spots up the leaderboard in the final round.

Junior Zach Adams and sophomore transfer Brock Blais each recorded top-20 finishes. Adams T-14th at 4-under with scores of 67-70-72 on the par-71 layout at Aldarra Golf Club. His opening 67 (-4) was bogey free. Blais T-19th at 3-under for the tournament with a 54-hole score 210. He fired a bogey free 68 (-3) in round two and followed that up today with a 1-under 70 that featured five birdies. It marks his first career top-20 finish in Garnet and Black.

Senior All-American Nathan Franks T-32nd at 1-over for the tournament. He finished strong today with a 2-under 69 that featured six birdies. He was hurt only by a double bogey at the par-4 18th hole. Redshirt freshman Isamel Encinas T-54th at 7-over on the week in his lineup debut. Like Franks, he also finished strong with a 1-under 70 today, which was highlighted by a bogey free 31 (-4) on the front nine.

Freshman Marek Fleming made his Gamecock debut this week competing as individual. He finished just outside the top-30 at 2-over on the week. The Tomball, Texas, native shot 70 (-1) in round two for his first career red number at South Carolina.

The Gamecocks will be off for a few weeks now before gearing up for the team’s final two events of the fall season at the Everett Buick GMC Classic (Oct. 14-15) in Little Rock, Ark. and the Fallen Oak Invitational (Oct. 19-21) in Saucier, Miss.
