Lamoure Tabbed SEC Golfer of the Week

French sophomore has had three consecutive top-20 finishes to start the 2024-25 season for the fourth-ranked Gamecocks
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore Maylis Lamoure was tabbed SEC Golfer of the Week the league office announced on Wednesday. The Aix-en-Provence, France, native is fresh off a T-5th finish in a strong field at the Windy City Collegiate Classic on Tuesday.
The No. 4 Gamecocks finished runner-up amongst a field that consisted of 10 teams ranked in the top-25 of the Preseason WGCA Coaches Poll.
It’s Lamoure’s first career player of the week award from the conference office. She was tabbed SEC Freshman of the Week in the fall last season after a top-five finish that helped the team win the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
Lamoure shot 219 (+3) to tie All-American teammate Hannah Darling for low individual amongst Carolina’s counting five in the lineup. She shot 71-77-71 in windy conditions where scoring was tough at Westmoreland Country Club outside of Chicago. Lamoure’s final round 71 (-1) was one of just three scores under par in the final round of play on Tuesday’s amongst the tournament’s 81 competitors.
She has gotten off to a fast start this season with three top-20 finishes in the team’s first three events.
The Gamecocks will be back in action at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup (Oct. 21-23) for the fall finale. The prestigious six-team tournament will be televised each day via Golf Channel. For more information on the event, visit the tournament website by clicking here.
