Gamecocks announce Stuff the Bus initiative at Saturday’s football game
Athletics Department partners with Student Government and Parking and Transportation Services
The Gamecock Athletics Department, in partnership with the University of South Carolina Student Government and Parking and Transportation Services, will be collecting items at Saturday’s football game vs. Ole Miss for those suffering from the effects of Hurricane Helene.
Gamecock fans are encouraged to bring water, nonperishable food items, toiletries and bathroom products, diapers, bedding supplies and electronic chargers to help us Stuff the Bus.
Fans will be able to bring their items to the University of South Carolina bus that will be parked inside Gamecock Park between Premium North and Quad 1 along the Garnet Way. The drop off location will be open from 9:30 a.m. through kickoff at 3:30 p.m.
Fans without a parking pass for Gamecock Park, will not be able to drive in to drop off their items but can also drop their items off in additional bins located around the plaza of Williams-Brice Stadium from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. before going into the stadium.
Fans unable to come to Saturday’s game or those that are interested in finding other ways to support those effected by Hurricane Helene can visit: https://www.sc.edu/uofsc/posts/2024/10/hurricane-helene-relief.php. A link to this website will be displayed on the videoboard throughout the game as well as at concessions stands throughout Williams-Brice Stadium.
Saturday’s game will also serve as our annual First Responders game where we will recognize the various agencies that assist the Athletics Department on game days and keep our communities safe throughout the year.
