No. 7 Gamecocks to Open SEC Play with No. 1 Auburn
COLUMBIA, SC – The No. 7 ranked Gamecock Equestrian team (2-0, 0-0) is set to face No. 1 Auburn (1-0, 0-0) for the first SEC meet of the season on Friday, Oct. 11 at 11:00 a.m. at One Wood Farm.

LAST TIME OUT
South Carolina opened up the season on the road in Delaware, facing No. 9 DSU and Minnesota Crookston. The Gamecocks secured the victory over both teams, heading back home undefeated to begin the 2024-25 campaign.
The meets were highlighted by five freshmen going undefeated through their matchups, and seven Gamecocks grabbing MOP honors out of eight available. Senior Mary Hunter Millet tied the highest score on the Flat in program history with a 94 against DSU, and newcomer Amira Kettaneh posted the second-highest score ever for a freshman on the Flat against the Hornets as well.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Friday’s meet with Auburn will be the 58th in program history. The Tigers are 13-7 in matches held at One Wood Farm, but the Gamecocks took the most recent matchup (Feb. 3) against then-ranked No. 4 Auburn 11-9 in a meet that came down to the final ride. The win over Auburn was the first for South Carolina in nearly 10 seasons, and the highest-ranked win since defeating No. 3 Georgia at home in the fall of 2022.
The Tigers head into the meet the No. 1 ranked team in the country after defeating the previous top-ranked team of TCU 11-7. Auburn took three of four MOP honors, taking down the Horned Frogs 6-3 in Western and 5-4 in Jumping Seat.
