Bracket Set For 2019 SEC Tournament

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The bracket is set for the 2019 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament, which will be held next week, Wed., March 13-Sun., March 17, in Nashville at Bridgestone Arena.  Top-seeded LSU (16-2), No. 2 seed Kentucky (15-3), No. 3 Tennessee (15-3) and No. 4 South Carolina (11-7) have received double-byes in next week’s event.

South Carolina finished the 2019 league campaign with an 11-7 record and two-straight victories to finish out the season, including a 66-46 victory over Georgia on Senior Day at Colonial Life Arena.  The Gamecocks began the league campaign 4-0, kicking off the season with a 71-69 road win at Florida on Jan. 5, and also captured road victories at Vanderbilt, Georgia and Texas A&M.  The Gamecocks are on the top half of the bracket, and will face the winner of the No. 5 Auburn (11-7) vs. No. 12 Missouri (5-13)/No. 13 Georgia (2-16) contest on Friday afternoon 25 minutes following the conclusion of the session’s opening game, which tips at 1 p.m. ET.  Carolina is 21-27 all-time in SEC Tournament action, including a 1-1 record in last year’s event as the No. 11 seed.  Gamecock head coach Frank Martin is 5-6 all-time in the SEC postseason event.
