Columbia, S.C. – The Gamecocks finished in 11th place at the Kiawah Intercollegiate at Turtle Point, Kiawah Island Resort. USC finished with a two-round total of 600 during the rain shortened tournament. Kentucky finished in first place with a score of 580 and a three-stroke advantage over Georgia State.

Nash Elliott was the Gamecocks top golfer finishing in a tie for fifth place. The senior golfer fired a two-round total of two-under-par 142 (71-71). Alex Hamilton improved his score by two strokes during the second round of play to finish the tournament in a tie for 36th place. Hamilton’s final score was 152 (77-75). Martin Rominger shot a 74 on the second day to finish in a tie for 43rd with a total score of 153 (79-74). Erik Johansen (80-76) and Robert Svensson (77-79) finished with a two-day total of 156 to finish in 50th place. Senior Jason Huguet, who was participating in the tournament as an individual, carded a final round 74 and a two day total of 153 (79-74).

The Gamecock golf team will head to Jonesboro, Tenn. to compete in the Bank of Tennessee/The Ridges Intercollegiate on Sept. 13-14. The 18-team tournament will take place at The Ridges Golf and Country Club.
