Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina women’s soccer had four named All-Region by the United Soccer Coaches, the organization announced Monday. Juniors Grace Fisk, Mikayla Krzeczowski and Tatumn Milazzo were named along with sophomore Lauren Chang. The Gamecocks have had at least four named to the All-Region teams for four-straight seasons.
Fisk was the lone Gamecock to earn All-Southeast First-Team honors after another stellar season leading the back line. Fisk, who was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight time, has been named to the first team for two years in a row. Fisk helped lead a South Carolina defense that posted the fourth-best goals against average in program history at 0.56. She scored the game-winning goal against Kentucky, and added an assist later in the victory.
Krzeczowski and Chang both were named to the All-Southeast Second Team for their performances during the 2018 season. The honor for Chang is the first of her career in a season in which that she led the Gamecocks in goals with eight. The sophomore netted the game-winning goal in three huge games this season – against rival Clemson, No. 11 Tennessee and in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament against UNCG.
For Krzeczowski, she has been named to the second team for a second year in a row and the third time she has earned All-Region honors. Her nine shutouts helped her eclipse both the South Carolina and SEC records for career shutouts at 34. The junior will enter her senior season with the best career goals against average in program history (0.50) and ranks fourth in career saves (165).
Milazzo’s junior season marked her best offensive season as a member of the Gamecocks. Her All-Southeast Third-Team honor is her second straight. She scored two goals for South Carolina in 2018, including her first career goal against Georgia that proved to be the gamewinner. The junior played a significant amount of time of the non-conference season as a center back while Fisk played with England’s U20 National Team.
