Lambling, Beasley Into Finals at Georgia Tech Invitational
South Carolina freshman Jake Beasley and Raphael Lambling advanced into the championship rounds of their respective draws on Saturday at the GT Invite.
ATLANTA, Ga./ CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Gamecock freshman Raphael Lambling and Jake Beasley each won twice to advance to the championship round of their respective singles draws at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday as South Carolina men’s tennis continued its fall tournament slate.
The Georgia Tech Invitational continued with main draw singles quarterfinal and semifinal action on Saturday. Tournament play at the Charlotte 49ers Fall Invitational was resumed after day one was suspended on Friday due to inclement weather.
GEORGIA TECH INVITATIONAL- Atlanta, Ga.
Lambling dominated a pair of Vanderbilt opponents, beating George Harwell, 6-3, 6-0 followed by a 6-1, 6-1 win over Max Freeman. Lambling advances to the singles championship of the Olde Old Main Draw where he will face Andrew Li of Georgia Tech on Sunday.
Beasely had a pair of tight matches beginning with a 6-3, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (1) win over Georgia’s Sam Dromsky. Beasely advanced to the White Draw semifinal with a 7-6 (0), 6-3 win over Alex Ross of Vanderbilt.

CHARLOTTE 49ERS FALL INVITATIONAL- Charlotte, N.C.
Following an overnight delay in opening round singles action due to inclement weather, Thomas Brown and Patrick Cacciatore captured first and second rounds in the A1 singles draw on Saturday afternoon at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
Cacciatore won both of his matches in straight sets, taking down Ian Melnik of UNCG and Sam Kavarana of Davidson. Brown battled through two tough matches, prevailing 7-6 (0), 7-5 over Ollie Palmer (UNCG) and 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 over Oli Nolan (UNCA).
Following a first-round defeat in the A2 singles draw, Beau Pelletier rebounded from a first set loss to take down Gardner-Webb’s Breno Plentz, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Play will resume on Sunday with singles beginning at 8:30 a.m., back at the Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex.
