Details Announced For Oct. 5 Gamecock Basketball Tipoff

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Details have been finalized for Gamecock Tipoff, a joint event held by the South Carolina men’s and women’s basketball teams on Oct. 5, at Colonial Life Arena.  Admission and parking are free for all students and fans, with both provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
Doors open for the event at 5:30 p.m., with team autographs set to start at 5:45 p.m.  Please note, due to our commitment to NCAA compliance, student-athletes will only sign the official South Carolina Athletics team autograph cards that are provided for free at the event.  Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and take photos with the Gamecock Cheerleaders and Cocky. Concession will be available.
 
On-court action begins around 7 p.m., and will include student-athlete introductions, a junior dunk contest, a performance by the Carolina Girls Dance Team, and a 3-point shooting contest.  Highlighting the festivities will be a “Family Feud” matchup between members of the men’s and women’s teams.
 
Additionally, one lucky fan will have the chance to hit a half-court shot for $10,000, before the event ends at 7:30 p.m.
 
South Carolina men’s basketball begins its season with a free admission exhibition versus Augusta University on Oct. 26, at Colonial Life Arena.  Tip time for that contest will be released soon.  Carolina women’s basketball will host Lander on Nov. 2, in its lone exhibition of the season.  That game will tip at 7 p.m., and is also free admission.
