Volleyball's Weekend Tournament at VCU Cancelled
The Gamecocks were set to travel to Richmond, Va., for Friday and Saturday matches
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina volleyball’s weekend tournament in Richmond, Va. was officially cancelled on Wednesday, due to severe and unsafe conditions forecasted in association with Hurricane Florence. The Gamecocks were schedule to play in the VCU Invite, with matches Friday and Saturday.
The team will now prepare for the start of conference play, hosting Mississippi State and LSU on Sept. 21 and 23, respectively. South Carolina is 9-1 this season and are winners of five-straight matches under first-year head coach Tom Mendoza.
