No. 21 Gamecocks Open Season Sunday at Gopher Invitational

MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. – No. 21 South Carolina opens 2025-26 season on Sunday up north at the Gopher Invitational hosted by Minnesota. Teams will play 36 holes day one with the final round taking place on Monday at Windsong Farm Golf Club.

Clippd will have live scoring for the event here. The Gamecocks will be paired with Furman, Little Rock and Northern Illinois the opening two rounds. Carolina and No. 20 Texas A&M are the only top-25 teams from the Preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll.

Redshirt junior All-American Frankie Harris mans the top spot in the lineup. He enters the new season No. 12 in the preseason PGA TOUR University rankings. Harris’ 70.63 scoring average in two seasons at South Carolina is No. 1 lowest all-time in program history. His nine top-five finishes for the Gamecocks are T-7^th most all-time at Carolina.

Harris is joined in the lineup this week by an experienced group in senior Zach Adams, junior Brock Blais, sophomore Marek Fleming and redshirt sophomore Ismael Encinas. All four players were key contributors on last season’s NCAA Championship squad that recorded nine top-five finishes in 12 events played.

Three more Gamecocks are competing as individuals at the Minnesota Classic, an all-individual event. Junior Bo Carpenter, freshman Talan Harrison and freshman August Petersson are all playing in the event. Harrison and Petersson are each making their collegiate debuts.
