Gamecocks Announce Addition of Meredith Christopher
May 3, 2018
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s soccer coach Shelley Smith announced the addition of forward Meredith Christopher on Thursday. Christopher, a native of Fort Mill, S.C., joins the Gamecocks after spending her freshman campaign at Elon University.
“Meredith has already proven herself as a quality Division I college player,” Smith said. “We are looking forward to adding another attacking option to our roster. We know she has the ability to score goals.”
Christopher led the Phoenix in points (22) and goals (7) in 2017, and she was one of two Elon players to tally multiple game-winners.
The striker, who is eligible to play this fall, will join a Gamecock attack that returns five players who netted three or more goals in 2017.
