Gamecocks Host Bryan Bros Collegiate Starting Sunday

South Carolina Athletics

The inaugural event has been moved up to a Sunday start due to the threat of weather on Monday and Tuesday

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina plays host to the inaugural Bryan Bros Collegiate (Sept. 28-29) starting Sunday morning at Solina Golf Club. The first two rounds were originally set to take place on Monday, but due to possible weather, the opening round has been moved up a day and the final 36 holes will take place on Monday.

Carolina partnered with Solina and former standout alums, brothers George IV and Wesley Bryan, to host the tournament this week. George played for the Gamecocks from 2006-10 where he was a three-time All-American and two-time First Team All-SEC selection. He helped lead the Gamecocks to the NCAA West Regional Title in 2007 and is one of four players in program history to earn All-America status three times. Wesley played for Carolina from 2008-12, winning twice in college and earning All-SEC honors in 2010. As a professional in 2016, he went on to win three times en route to being named Web.com Tour Player of the Year (now Korn Ferry Tour). In his first full season on the PGA TOUR in 2017, he became the first native South Carolinian to win the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town. In 134 career PGA TOUR starts, Bryan has made 68 cuts (50.7%) with nine top-10 finishes and five top-fives.

Clippd will have live scoring for the Bryan Bros Collegiate available here.

Redshirt junior All-American Frankie Harris has the top spot in the lineup this week. He will be joined by senior Zach Adams, sophomore Marek Fleming, junior Brock Blais and redshirt sophomore Ismael Encinas.

Sophomore Emil Elkjær Petersen, freshman Talan Harrison and freshman August Petersson will compete as individuals for the Gamecocks.
