Gamecocks Draw with Aggies
COLUMBIA, SC – The No. 8 South Carolina women’s soccer team (10-2-5, 4-1-4) stayed undefeated at home (6-0-2), picking up a point with a 0-0 draw against Texas A&M (5-6-5, 2-5-2) on Sunday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Gamecocks were outshot in the first half with just two shots from sophomore Avery Galante and senior Kinley Brown to the Aggies’ five.
- Coming out of the half, South Carolina was quick to create chances. The Gamecocks took five shots in the first 15 minutes, including one on goal, but could not connect.
- South Carolina halted the Aggies’ chances, outshooting them nine to four in the second half. They finished taking two more shots than the Aggies, 11-to-9.
- South Carolina had four corners in the second half after being held to none in the first.
- Galante and Brown led the team in shots with two apiece.
- The 0-0 draw was South Carolina’s seventh shutout on the season.
- Senior keeper Tina Tsaousis had two saves on the night.
