COLUMBIA, S.C. — No. 27 South Carolina men’s tennis (15-6, 5-4 SEC) hits the road for its final SEC road trip of the season this weekend as the Gamecocks travel to LSU (8-12, 1-7 SEC) for a Friday night, 6 p.m. ET match, followed by a Sunday afternoon contest at fifth-ranked Texas A&M (16-4, 8-0 SEC) beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The Gamecocks will look to extend their current three-match win streak as they ride the momentum of their first top-10 win since 2013 in Sunday’s victory over 10th-ranked Florida.
No. 70 Paul Jubb, 4-0 in his last five singles matches, was named the SEC Player of the Week after taking out the eighth-ranked singles player in the country. Earlier this week, he moved into the ITA top-125 for the first time in his career.
No. 57 Dennis and Harrison O’Keefe moved into this week’s doubles rankings for the first time since the preseason after taking out the nation’s top-ranked doubles pair against the Gators on Sunday.
With four regular-season matches still remaining, South Carolina sits just three wins shy of tying the second highest win total (18) under head coach Josh Goffi.

- No. 27 South Carolina picked up its first top-10 win since 2013 last weekend, taking down 10th-ranked Florida in its only match of the week.
- The Gamecocks have won three straight matches overall, each against ranked opponents, and hold a 4-5 record on the season against ranked teams.
- South Carolina sits two wins shy of clinching its fifth winning season in SEC play in program history.
- Paul Jubb (19-7, 7-1 SEC) moved up to No. 70 in the latest singles rankings after posting a 6-4, 6-1 win over Alfredo Perez, the eighth ranked singles player in the country, against Florida last Sunday afternoon. Sunday’s performance earned Jubb his first career SEC Player of the Week recognition, the second weekly award for the Gamecocks this season.
- Jubb, 4-0 in his last five singles matches and 8-1 in his last 10, is 14-2 overall since the start of the spring season.
- No. 24 Gabriel Friedrich (22-9, 5-4 SEC) has played 48 career singles matches against ranked opponents ranking fifth in program history and has 19 career ranked victories, which is tied for fourth all-time. Friedrich’s No. 24 ranking is the highest ranking of his career.
- Wood Benton (19-12, 5-3 SEC) has been clutch for the Gamecocks from the No. 6 spot in the lineup all season with three match-clinching victories since the start of SEC play. Benton’s, 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-3 win over McClain Kessler on Sunday clinched the Gamecocks’ win over 10th-ranked Florida.
- Yancy Dennis and Harrison O’Keefe moved up to No. 57 in this week’s doubles rankings after taking out the top-ranked doubles pair in the nation last Sunday.
- Thomas Mayronne and Gabriel Friedrich have won two straight doubles matches, including a 6-3 win over the 32nd-ranked doubles pair in the country.
QUICK HITS: LSU
- LSU is currently in the midst of a seven-match losing skid and was swept 7-0 by both No. 23 Kentucky and No. 22 Vanderbilt last weekend.
- The Tigers (8-12, 1-7 SEC) have dropped nine of 10 matches overall but hold an 8-2 record in home matches this season. LSU will play its final five opponents at home beginning with the Gamecocks on Friday night.
- Rafael Wagner and Agie Moreno moved up to No. 82 in this week’s doubles rankings.
- South Carolina is 11-29 all-time against LSU, but the two sides have split the last four matches overall. The Gamecocks defeated LSU 4-3 last season at the Carolina Tennis Center.
- The last time South Carolina beat the Tigers in Baton Rouge was a 5-2 victory back in March 2002.

- Fifth-ranked Texas A&M enters the weekend on a four-match win streak with 4-3 wins over both No. 22 Vanderbilt and No. 23 Kentucky last weekend.
- The Aggies (16-4, 8-0 SEC), with five ranked singles players and four ranked doubles combinations, will battle ninth-ranked Florida on Friday night before hosting the Gamecocks on Sunday.
- No. 10 Arthur Rinderknech (15-3, 6-2 SEC) dropped both of his singles matches last weekend, while No. 12 Patrick Kypson (9-6, 5-2 SEC) won both of his matches last week.
- No. 109 Juan Carlos Aguilar (22-6, 6-1 SEC) leads the Aggies in singles wins and has won three straight from the No. 5 position.
- The 13th-ranked doubles team of Juan Carlos Aguilar and Jordi Arconada leads the Aggies with 13 wins, while No. 65 AJ Catanzariti and Valentin Vacherot are 9-1 in their last 10 doubles matches.
- Texas A&M leads the all-time series against the Gamecocks 9-3 and has won the last eight meetings. South Carolina last defeated Texas A&M 5-3 back in 1991 and has never won on the road in College Station.
