No. 17 Gamecocks Fall to No. 10 Vanderbilt in Regular Season Finale
COLUMBIA, SC – No. 17 South Carolina women’s soccer (10-3-5, 4-2-4) fell 1-0 to No. 10 Vanderbilt (13-3-1, 7-2-1) Sunday afternoon, closing out the regular season. It was the Gamecocks’ first loss at home after going undefeated in Stone Stadium.
Vanderbilt got on the board first in the 17th minute, giving the Commodores an early 1-0 advantage. The Gamecocks responded defensively, with senior goalkeeper Christina Tsaousis making two crucial saves to keep the match close going into the half.
Despite South Carolina reclaiming possession battles in the second 45, and three nail-biting attempts from Reagan Schubach and Maggie Taitano
Tsaousis finished the afternoon with five saves, while South Carolina recorded five shots and one corner.

The Gamecocks look ahead to the SEC Tournament, which will kickoff Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Fla.
